My Background
Hi! I am Laney, a Product designer with a background in Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley and am currently studying HCI @UCSC.
I grew up loving art and crafts whether it be through sketching or painting. This led me to learning about UX Design as a career path that combined creativity and innovation. My mom was also a designer who truly motivates me to work hard for my passions. My goal is to create designs that are impactful and empowers.
I self-studied design looking at everyday things and take a lot of inspiration/stay updated through X, Cosmos, DesignSpells, and others on the daily.

I am fascinated in technology and innovation. With the rise of AI, this section is really fascinating as technology is now changing faster than ever. I want to be a part of this evolving era of the tech world and am passionate about any exploration that includes empowering users.
I find micro-interactions and motion design to be a fascinating field and something I want to explore more. I am always eager to grow and learn new skills.

My Highlights
Visited New York for the first time in February 2026! Found so much inspiration there :D
I was president of UC Berkeley's only UX-dedicated club where I revamped club structure to hold member retention (shoutout UX@Berkeley!)
Began my master's program and won first place in a designathon hosted by Google.
Visited Hawaii and hiked to a pillbox!
Got to visit SF a lot and explore new places.
I am such a foodie and love trying hidden gems and viral places :))
Traveled to Sapporo and Seoul during Winter 2025. It was my first time seeing snow!
