MyShake

MyShake is an app designed to meet end-to-end earthquake needs, providing education, personalized alerts, and experience reports. I helped with conducting user interviews, user research, ideating, and creating the design system.

Overview

Issue

MyShake users need a more intuitive and friendly user experience. While the app is functional, its organization is hard to understand and navigate and its interface could be more visually simple and pleasing. How might we redesign the Myshake app to feel like a warm and authoritative earthquake package that intuitively addresses the breadth of earthquake needs?

Solution

An all-in-one earthquake care package that prioritizes user needs and more accessibility throughout the app.

Final Deliverable

In our final prototype, my team and I designed a high-fidelity prototype that contained our main pages. We transformed the landing page from a half-screen map list to a page where users can access information instantly. It simplifies the flow and allows users to see nearby locations and pinned locations first.

Reflection

This project was really enjoyable and taught me more about how to create design variables on Figma. I was also given the chance to learn more about forming opinions on designs and communicating within the team.
