Overview

Problem

It’s difficult to jot down one’s thoughts, frustrations , or ideas on the fly with how busy and face paced the world is.

Solution

A multi-input note taking application aimed at reducing cognitive load.

It is a global experience, feeling overwhelmed with tasks and disorganization in the mind.

In our modern society, people are mentally overbooked…

Cognitive overload

People’s minds have become increasingly overloaded, causing increases in errors and anxiety.

Ideas go by fast

People “on average” forget 50% of thoughts, learnings, and ideas in just an hour.

Notes are too hard

Taking notes help, but the process is too tedious.

Mental health is important, how do people currently deal with it on a busy schedule?

Redirecting our focus

We initially explored AI chatbots, but research revealed users found them untrustworthy for sensitive topics. Recognizing that journaling was the preferred method for our target audience, we pivoted to a multi-modal recording tool that prioritizes human expression over AI-generated conversation.

Our findings led to this…

Users are busy and find writing to be tedious. It takes a lot of time out of their day to sit down and jot down their thoughts.

Let's reflect…

I enjoyed working on this project and learned how quickly change can happen after feedback is given. We began this project wanting to delve into the mental health space hoping to explore meditation or AI chat bots that serve as a therapist but switched directions after receiving negative feedback. This experience taught me a lot about taking in feedback throughout the entire design process. I also learned a lot about remote teamwork and setting internal timelines.

Thank you to Moonshot for hosting this Design Challenge!

Rejection is redirection

When one idea does not work, use user feedback as a way to guide your next steps.

Remote Teamwork

Setting deadlines internally and aligning goals with the team online can be difficult.

If we had more time…

I would love to delve deeper in other ways we can have people interact with a journal not limited to just touch. A hands-free option would be really interesting to explore.
